- By train — Pathankot or Amb Andaura. Both are ≈ 88–89 km away. Pathankot has the most trains; Amb Andaura has the Vande Bharat from Delhi via Chandigarh.

Kangra Airport, Gaggal
Kangra Airport — also called Gaggal Airport or Dharamshala Airport — is the only airport in the valley. Flights come mainly from Delhi and change with the season, so check the airline's schedule before you book. From arrivals:

Dharamshala to McLeodganj
McLeodganj is the upper part of Dharamshala, home to the Tsuglagkhang temple complex. It is about 5 km above Kotwali Bazaar by a steep road — roughly 15 min by car — and the Dharamshala Skyway ropeway also connects the two. Bhagsu, Dharamkot and Naddi are a few kilometres further up; some guesthouses there are reachable only on foot for the last few metres.
